My affinity for lack of better terms leads me to believe in you.
There's something white on the ground, but not snow, I think it's salt from our shoes.
Perhaps it will meld with your melted thoughts and stick to form something tangible.
I'll pick up all of the rest with the dirt from the bottom of my sandals.

All the street lamps on my road have been long burnt out,
and it makes me a little bit scared to drive down in the dark and walk in my house.
Like the apple leaf that tries so hard to hold on to its stem
falls off to the salted ground to find hard earth instead
